## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT HAD BEEN TRAINING WITH BANNER TOW OPERATOR FOR THE PREVIOUS 9 DAYS. PILOT HAD JUST COMPLETED A BANNER DROP AND THEN RETURNED TO FIELD TO LAND. PILOT AND PASSENGER, ALSO A COMMERCIAL PILOT, BOTH REPORT THAT PIC CONDUCTED A NORMAL FINAL APPROACH AT 65 - 70 MPH. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ABOUT TWO OR THREE FEET INTO THE AIR. AS AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AGAIN, PILOT CLAIMS HE WAS USING THE RUDDERS AND HE INADVERTENTLY APPLIED THE RIGHT TOE BRAKE. AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY FLIPPED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA339](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA339), May 16, 2012: Bellanca 8GCBC (N86917), Gulf Shores, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadvertent application of the wheel brakes immediately after landing, which resulted in the airplane nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
