## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTED AIRCRAFT LOST POWER SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 9. PILOT TURNED TO THE NORTH TO AVOID HIGH TENSION POWER LINES AND SETTLED INTO A WHEAT FIELD STRIKING THE GROUND LEFT WING THEN RIGHT WING, YAWING TO THE LEFT THEN ROLLING OVER, SEPARATING BOTH WINGS FROM THE AIRCRAFT, THE RIGHT WING TO THE RIGHT OF THE FUSELAGE, THE LEFT WING UNDER THE RIGHT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12LA308](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12LA308), May 20, 2012: Piper PA-28-180 (N4595T), Frankenmuth, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power for undetermined reasons and the pilot’s failure to maintain airspeed, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
