## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS CONDUCTING AN AERIAL APPLICATION OF A WHEAT FIELD WHEN HE STRUCK THE MAIN PIPE OF AN IRRIGATION CIRCLE WITH THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR, BENDING IT BACK AND UP. PILOT WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUED OPERATIONS. HE CONFIRMED THE DAMAGED GEAR WITH THE OWNER/PILOT WHO WAS ALSO FLYING IN THE AREA. AFTER DISCUSSING A PLAN FOR LANDING THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RIGHT MAIN, HE RETURNED TO HOME BASE.(8WA) HE MADE A LONG STRAIGHT IN APPROACH, LANDING ON THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR, HE PULLED THE MIXTURE, AND HELD THE AIRPLANE ON THE RIGHT MAIN AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CAME DOWN ON THE DAMAGED LEFT MAIN GEAR, THE PROPELLER STUCK THE GROUND SEVERAL TIMES AND TURNED THE AIRCRAFT 90 DEGREES TO THE LEFT. UPON COMING TO REST, HE SHUT OFF THE MASTER, MAGENETOS, FUEL AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WAS NO CHEMICAL OR FUEL SPILLS, AND NOT POST ACCIDENT FIRE. PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES.
