## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 24, 2012, N7505Y, A SCHWEIZER 269C, HELICOPTER OPERATED BY THE OWNER AND PRIVATE PILOT WITH A CFI ON BOARD WAS PERFORMING A "RUN ON" LANDING AT THE ASHEVILLE REGIONAL AIRPORT, LOCATED IN ASHEVILLE, NC. DURING THE FLAIR TO LANDING THE RIGHT SKID CONTACTED AND HUNG ON THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE LIGHT AND DEPARTED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT MANAGED TO LIFT THE AIRCRAFT TO APPROXIMATELY 8 TO 12 FEET AND MOVED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE TAXIWAY, WHERE HE GENTLY LOWERED THE AIRCRAFT. DURING TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED RIGHT ON TO IT'S SIDE. PILOT AND CFI EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNHURT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12LA362](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12LA362), May 24, 2012: Schweizer 269C (N7505Y), Asheville, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The use of an aftermarket skid shoe, which resulted in the skid shoe becoming caught on a runway centerline light during the run-on landing.

## Other reports on N7505Y (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19890303003069A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19890303003069A), Mar 3, 1989: Hughes 269C (N7505Y), Hillsboro, OR, Substantial damage. Became too low sling loading holly trees onto a trailer. A skid caught on side of trailer. Helicopter rolled over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
