## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT PILOT WERE PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 36 AT JABARA AIRPORT (AAO). DURING THE SECOND LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT AFTER TOUCHDOWN, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY, EVENTUALLY STRIKING A DIRT BERM, BREAKING OFF THE NOSE GEAR, DAMAGING THE COWLING, THE PROP, AND BUCKLING THE FUSELAGE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THE PILOT AND INSTRUCTOR WERE UNINJURED. VISUAL METEROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WITH WINDS REPORTED FROM 080 DEGREES AT 8, GUSTING TO 18 KNOTS. EVIDENCE INDICTAES THE STUDENT PILOT WAS MANIPULATING THE CONTROLS UPON LANDING AND THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AS THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO VEER TO THE RIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
