## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 2, 2012, A TAILWHEEL EQUIPPED CESSNA 150G SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AFTER A LOSS OF CONTROL AND SUBSEQUENT LANDING GEAR FAILURE DURING AN ATTEMPTED DOWNWIND TAKEOFF IN KETCHIKAN, ALASKA. THE COMMERCIAL PILOT AND SINGLE PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED DURING THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC12CA045](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC12CA045), Jun 3, 2012: Cessna 150G (N3235J), Ketchikan, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s decision to take off with a quartering tailwind, which resulted in a loss of control.

## Other reports on N3235J (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19920315006299A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920315006299A), Mar 15, 1992: Cessna STC150 (N3235J), Juneau, AK, Substantial damage. Lost control on touch and go landing in coverted tail dragger 150. Ground looped. Unskilled in tail wheel aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
