## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS WAS A CFI INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. THE CFI PERFORMED AN ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE STUDENT PERFORMED AN ENGINE RESTART, HOWEVER WAS ONLY ABLE TO MOVE THE MIXTURE CONTROL ABOUT 1/4 INCH FORWARD.THE CFI WAS UNABLE TO ENRICH THE MIXTURE CONTROL ANY FURTHER. THE ENGINE WAS STARTED, HOWEVER RPM WAS CONTINUING TO DROP. THE CFI SECURED THE ENGINE AND PROCEEDED DIRECTLY TO THE KIWA AIRPORT, AND LANDED SAFELY ON ONE ENGINE.MX WAS PERFORMED ON THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE FOLLOWING CORRECTIVE ACTION. " LUBRICATED LEFT ENGINE MIXTURE CONTROL PER PIPER SEMINOLE SERVICE MANUAL. RAN AIRCRAFT AND OPPS CHECK GOOD."

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
