## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS ON LANDING ROLLOUT ON RUNWAY 01, WHEN A TRACTOR WHICH WAS MOWING GRASS STARTED TO CROSS THE RUNWAY. THERE IS A CREST ON THIS RUNWAY AND YOU CANNOT SEE FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER. NEITHER SAW EACH OTHER UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE AND THE AIRCRAFT CAUGHT THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER WHICH SETS HIGH ON THE TRACTOR. THE TRACTOR CAUGHT THE LAST 3 FEET OF THE LEFT WING. THE DAMAGE WAS EXTENSIVE TO THE LEFT WING, TOP OF CABIN AND ACROSS TO THE RIGHT WING. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA416](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA416), Jun 15, 2012: Cessna 172M (N73134), Churchville, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: The tractor operator's failure to confirm the landing airplane's position before entering an active runway, which resulted in a ground collision.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
