## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS WAS A PLEASURE PART 91 FLIGHT. THERE WAS ONE PASSENGER. THE PILOT WAS FLYING TO A CESSNA 170 CLUB EVENT AT EIGHT MILE GRAVEL STRIP, LOCATED 8 MILES SOUTH OF SKWENTNA, ALASKA. THIS IS AN OFF-AIRPORT STRIP. THE PILOT REPORTED TOUCHING DOWN ON RUNWAY AND THEN ABORTED DUE TO A LARGE DOG ENTERING THE AIRSTRIP. THE PILOT MADE A SECOND APPROACH, HE NOTICED AN ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE (ATV) RIDING ALONG THE REFLECTIVE CONES MARKING THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE ATV DRIVER'S BACK WAS TOWARD THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT REPORTED TOUCHING DOWN AND WAS ON ROLL-0UT WHEN THE ATV DROVE INTO THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND VEERED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID THE ATV. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED INTO THE WOODS AND STRUCK SOME ALDER TREES AND CAME TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. FOLLOW UP 44709 TRANSFERED TO ANC FSDO

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC12CA054](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC12CA054), Jun 16, 2012: Cessna 172 (N5874A), Skwentna, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The improper decision of the driver of the all-terrain vehicle to enter an active runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
