## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE TRACKING THE BDF-300 RADIAL INBOUND AT 4,500' MSL AT APPROXIMATELY 5-10 NM EAST OF BDF, THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY BEGAN VIBRATING ABNORMALLY. THE PILOT DECLARED EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO MARSHALL COUNTY AIRPORT (C75) AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED ABOUT SIX INCHES OF THE PROPELLER MISSING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12IA377](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12IA377), Jun 18, 2012: Piper PA-28R-200 (N4350T), Lacon, IL, incident, minor damage. Probable cause: The propeller blade’s failure due to a fatigue crack that originated from a surface gouge that resulted from foreign object damage to the propeller blade that occurred at an unknown time.

## Other reports on N4350T (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20110903024999I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20110903024999I), Sep 3, 2011: Piper PA-28R-200 (N4350T), Bossier City, LA, No damage. Pilot states he ran out of fuel after encountering stronger headwinds than anticipated.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
