## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT 0645 CDT ON JUNE 28, 2011, N3299Z, AYRES CORP. S2R-G10, WAS ENGAGED IN AGRICULTURAL AERIAL SPRAY OPERATIONS OVER A CORNFIELD NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF THE 35 ROAD AND P ROAD, FOUR MILES NORTHEAST OF MINDEN, NE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED UNDER 14 CFR PART 137. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON A SOUTH HEADING OF 180? SPRAYING A SWATH OF CORN PARALLEL TO 35 ROAD. THE PILOT CLIMBED OVER A ROW OF TREES WITH ADJACENT GRAIN BINS AND DESCENDED TO CONTINUE SPRAYING THE SWATH. THE PILOT ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO DESCEND SLIGHTLY TOO LOW AND INTO THE TOP OF THE CORN STALKS. THE PILOT MADE EVERY EFFORT TO REGAIN ALTITUDE TO CLEAR THE TOP OF THE CORN, HOWEVER WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. AFTER APPROXIMATELY FIVE HUNDRED FEET OF TRAVEL IN THE CORN, THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED AND CAME TO REST INVERTED ABOUT 100 FEET NORTH OF P ROAD. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED AND THE PILOT SUFFERED MINOR CUTS AND SCRAPES TO FACE AND ARMS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA403](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA403), Jun 28, 2012: Ayres S2R-G10 (N3299Z), Minden, NE, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from the wake turbulence from a previous pass.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
