## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS APROXAMENTLY 30 NM EAST OF NAPLES DECENDING THROUGH 5000 FT. WHEN A BURNING SMELL WAS DECTETED. TURNED AROUND AND LINED UP ON NAPLES AIRPORT AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT ON RWY 14.PRIME PLANES DISCOVERED THAT THE GX-60 GPS POWER SUPPLY HAD FAILED AND CAUSED THE SMOKE. THE UNIT WAS REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE NEXT DAY THE AIRCRAFT WAS BROUGHT TO FXE FORT LAUDERDALE EXECUTIVE AIRPORT WITH NO INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
