## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 4, 2012, N84279 ATTEMPTED TO TAKE-OFF FROM A GRASS STRIP (33AR), A 2300 FOOT LONG STRIP AT ELEVATION 535 FEET. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED BY THE REGISTERED OWNER, A PRIVATE PILOT WITH A VALID THIRD CLASS MEDICAL. WHILE CLIMBING OUT AT 40 FEET OF ALTITUDE, THE AIRCRAFT PERFORMANCE WAS DEGRADED DUE TO HIGH DENSITY ALTITUDE, THE AIRCRAFT BANKED LEFT AND IMPACTED THREE TREES AND CAME TO REST IN THE BACKYARD OF A RESIDENT. THERE WAS NO FLIGHT PLAN FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA422](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA422), Jul 4, 2012: Cessna 172K (N84279), Greers Ferry, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain a positive rate of climb while taking off with a high density altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
