## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT'S STATEMENT OF EVENTS REFLECTED THAT THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED WHILE FLYING IN THE PATTERN TO LANDING APPROACH. THE PILOT STATED THAT WHILE ON LEFT DOWNWIND OF THE TRAFFIC PATTERN TO RUNWAY 17, HE LOWERED THE LANDING GEAR, NOTING THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR AND NOSE LANDING GEAR LIGHTS TO BE GREEN, BUT NOTING THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR LIGHT NOT TO BE GREEN. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE MOVED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE SLIGHTLY AND THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR LIGHT FLICKERED GREEN BUT DID NOT FULLY ILLUMINATE STEADILY. HE STATED THAT HE RADIOED AN UNKNOWN AIRCRAFT FLYING BEHIND HIM AND REQUESTED HIM TO VISUALLY OBSERVE THE CONDITION OF THE LANDING GEAR. THE PILOT OF THE UNKNOWN AIRCRAFT ACKNOWLEDGED THAT ONLY TWO LANDING GEAR WERE VISIBLE AND REQUESTED THAT THE PILOT OF THE AFFECTED AIRCRAFT TURN BASE TO FINAL APPROACH FOR A BETTER VISUAL PERSPECTIVE TO OBSERVE THE GEAR. THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER HE TURNED LEFT BASE TO FINAL, HE WAS TOLD BY THE PILOT OF THE UNKNOWN AIRCRAFT THAT ALL THREE GEAR WERE DOWN. DURING THE FINAL APPROACH PHASE, THE PILOT STATED THAT HE ALSO RECEIVED RADIO CONFIRMATION FROM THE PILOT OF N1221U THAT ALL THREE GEAR WERE DOWN. THE PILOT OF N1221U WAS LOCATED AT THE HOLD SHORT POSITION TO RUNWAY 17. THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER HE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION FROM THE PILOT OF N1221U, HE NOTED ALL THREE LANDING GEAR HAD GREEN LIGHTS AT THAT TIME, HE MADE THE FINAL DECISION TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT. HE STATED THAT HE SUCCESSFULLY LANDED NEAR TAXIWAY ALPHA, TAXIED APPROXIMATELY TO THE TAXIWAY ECHO AREA, FELT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT BEGIN TO DIP, THEN FELT THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY VEER OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY JUST SHORT OF TAXIWAY ECHO.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
