## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT IN COMMANDS WRITTEN NARRATIVE STATED: HE WAS CONDUCTING AN OFF AIRPORT TRAINING EXERCISE. DURING THE LANDING PHASE TO A RIVER GRAVEL BAR, HIS AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS THAT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO RISE SMOOTHLY TO ABOUT 10 FEET ABOVE THE LANDING SITE. HOWEVER, WHEN THE GUST RAPIDLY DISSIPATED, THE AIRCRAFT AERODYNAMICALLY STALLED AND THEN DROPPED TO THE SURFACE WITH AN EXTREME SINK RATE. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR RENDERED THE AIRCRAFT UNSUITABLE FOR FURTHER FLIGHT. NOTE: THE NTSB DETERMINED THE EVENT TO BE NEITHER AN ACCIDENT NOR AN INCIDENT. AS A CONSEQUENCE AN NTSB ID NUMBER WAS NOT ASSIGNED.
