## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING ON RUNWAY 09, THE PILOT ELECTED TO MAINTAIN A HIGH APPROACH AND HIGH SPEED DUE TO TREES OFF THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY 09. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 900 FEET FROM THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 09. THE PILOT REDUCED POWER AND APPLIED BRAKES. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS THAT THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN THE BRAMBLES APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET BEYOND THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 09. THE FIREWALL AND THE LEFT MAIN GEAR WERE DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA464](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA464), Jul 16, 2012: Piper PA32-301FT (N813TC), Brevard, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to execute a go-around following an approach that was high and fast, which resulted in a runway overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
