## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN WAS CONDUCTING AERIAL APPLICATION OF CHEMICAL TO A CORN FIELD. THE AIRMAN STATED THAT DURING HIS AERIAL SURVEY OF THE FIELD PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION HE HAD IDENTIFIED THE ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSION WIRES HE EVENTUALLY STRUCK. THE AIRMAN STATED HE HAD COMPLETED APPLICATION TO ONE SIDE OF THE FIELD AND STARTED APPLICATION TO ANOTHER SECTION OF THE FIELD ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIRES. THE AIRMAN MADE ONE PASS AND ESTIMATED HIS SPEED TO BE 45 KIAS WHEN HE STRUCK AND BROKE THE TOP WIRE. THE AIRMAN STATED HE WAS WATCHING TREES AND THE UNEVEN SLOPING TERRAIN THAT WERE ALSO IN THE VICINITY OF THE WIRES. AFTER THE STRIKE,THE AIRMAN DETERMINED HE HAD CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN AN OPEN AREA OF THE CORNFIELD NEAR THE WIRE STRIKE SITE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
