## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PIC STATED THAT THIS WAS A LOCAL FLIGHT AND HE WAS TAKING HIS GRANDDAUGHTER FOR A FLIGHT. THE PIC STATED THAT SHORTLY AFTER PASSING THE WINDSOCK, HE ENCOUNTERED A GUST OF WIND THAT WEATHER-VANED THE AIRPLANE INTO THE WIND. THE PIC STATED AND POINTED TO A TREE LINE, INDICATING THE APPROXIMATE DIRECTION OF THE WIND, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN A LEFT QUARTERING HEADWIND. BASED ON A WITNESSES PICTURE, THE PICTURE SHOWS THE AIRPLANE NOT ALIGNED WITH THE RUNWAY AND SLIGHTLY AIRBORNE. THIS CONFIRMS THE PIC'S STATEMENT. THE PIC STATED THAT THE AIRPLANE BECOME AIRBORNE AT A VERY LOW AIRSPEED AND IN HIS EFFORTS TO GET THE AIRPLANE REALIGNED WITH THE RUNWAY, THE PIC STATED THAT THE 'BOTTOM FELL OUT' AND HE IMPACTED THE RUNWAY. THE PIC STATED THAT HE SHOULD HAVE RETARDED THE THROTTLE BUT ADMITTED TO BEING OVERLOADED AND OVERWHELMED. THE AIRPLANE BECAME AIRBORNE AGAIN AND ENDED UP COMING TO REST IN A SOYBEAN FIELD PARALLEL TO THE RUNWAY. THE PIC ADMITTED TO THIS BEING PILOT ERROR AND TAKES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS.
