## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED BY TELEPHONE THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING SOUTH AT 5000FEET WHEN THE LEFT HAND ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER. HE FEATHERED THE PROPELLOR ON THE LEFT HAND ENGINE AND PREPARED FOR AN EMERGENCY LANDING. HE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT AND ROLLED ABOUT 1500 FEET DOWN A DIRT ROAD. THE LEFT GEAR SLIPPED OFF OF THE ROAD SURFACE INTO A DITCH THAT RAN ALONGSIDE. THE AIRCRAFT ABRUPTLY SWUNG TO THE LEFT AND PLOWED THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT INTO A DIRT BANK, ALSO DAMAGING THE LEFT WING LEADING EDGE. THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS STILL PRODUCING SOME POWER AND WAS STOPPED BY BENDING THE PROPELLOR. HE EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AND WALKED OUT TO THE MAIN ROAD FOR HELP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12LA503](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12LA503), Jul 27, 2012: Beech 95-A55 (N1572S), Homerville, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power due to debris within the engine-driven fuel pump.

## Other reports on N1572S (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19770123000769A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19770123000769A), Jan 23, 1977: Beech 95A55 (N1572S), Detroit, MI, Substantial damage. Gear brace would not go over center due to grease/dirt. Pilot reported moderately hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
