## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FRIDAY, JULY 27, 2012 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:08PM CST, CESSNA 210B, N9571X, LANDED ON THE IH35 SOUTH BOUND ACCESS ROAD APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES WEST OF THE FORT WORTH SPINKS AIRPORT (FWS), TEXAS.THE AIRCRAFT LANDED GEAR UP AND FLAPS UP SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTURE OF SPINKS AIRPORT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING VERY "ROUGH" SHORTLY AFTER TAKE OFF AND THEN COMPLETELY STOPPED. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE CHANGED FUEL TANKS FROM RIGHT TO LEFT JUST PRIOR TO STOPPAGE. THE PILOT WAS ENROUTE TO HOUSTON, TX WITH HIS WIFE, BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO PUMP THE GEAR OR FLAPS DOWN PRIOR TO LANDING. MINOR DAMAGE TO THE UNDER CARRIAGE AND ONE PROP. PHOTOS OF THE #2 CYLINDER AND SPARK PLUG WAS SENT TO CONTINENTAL ENGINES CORP FOR CONSULTATION. CONSENSUS WITH THE CONTINENTAL INVESTIGATOR, FAA INSPECTOR AND OWNER (A&P MECHANIC) WAS THAT DETENATION WAS THE CAUSE FOR THE #2 CYLINDER TO FAIL. THE INVESTIGATION FAILED TO IDENTIFY THE EXACT REASON WHY DETENATION OCCURED.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
