## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT RECIEVED WEATHER INFORMATION FROM THE LOCAL AWOS. THE WINDS WERE REPORTED 280 AT 3 T0 6 KTS. HE MADE A NORMAL LANDING THAN A GUST OF WIND PUSHED THE TAIL TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER AND BRAKE TO STRIGHTEN THE AIRCRAFT. AS THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED DOWN AND THE TAIL STARTING TO LOWER, HE APPLIED THE BRAKES TO HARD AND THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER ON ITS BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA353](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA353), Aug 2, 2012: Cessna 182 (N5418B), Joseph, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s excessive use of brakes during the landing roll in a gusting crosswind, which resulted in a noseover.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
