## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE CONDUCTING A TOUCH AND GO LANDING AT WASHINGTON, MO AIRPORT (FYG) THE PILOT INADVERTENTLY RAISED THE LANDING GEAR INSTEAD OF THE FLAPS AS HE INTENDED. MAIN GEAR PARTIALLY RETRACTED, NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. PROP STRIKE AND ENGINE STOPPAGE. STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO NOSE GEAR ATTACHING POINT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA613](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA613), Aug 7, 2012: Beech A36 (N41HC), Washington, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot raised the landing gear handle instead of the flap handle during a touch-and-go landing, resulting in the collapse of the nose landing gear while accelerating to takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
