## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTED THAT NEARING ROTATION SPEED, AIRCRAFT LIFTED, THEN SETTLED BACK DOWN ON RUNWAY AND DID NOT APPEAR TO WANT TO FLY. AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF RUNWAY AND CLEARING RIVER, AIRCRAFT BEGIN TO SINK, CONTACTING GROUND CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL AIRFRAME DAMAGE. NO MECHANICAL ISSUES WERE NOTED AT THAT TIME

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA542](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA542), Aug 8, 2012: Piper PA-36-285 (N204AB), Harvey, ND, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s decision to take off with the airplane over its maximum gross weight on a turf runway and with a tailwind, and his subsequent failure to maintain airplane control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
