## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT LANDED AT SZT IN WHAT APPEARED TO BE A NORMAL LANDING, HE REMEMBERS HEARING THE TWO SQUEALS OF THE MAIN TIRES ON TOUCHDOWN, AND THE THUMP OF THE NOSE GEAR, AND THEN AFTER THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED TO TAXI SPEED, THE MAIN GEAR UNLOCKED AND ROTATED BACK INTO THE GEAR WELLS CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SLIDE ON ITS AMPHIBIOUS HULL CHINE. MINOR DAMAGE TO THE HULL CHINE FIBERGLASS AND ONE GEAR DOOR. NO OTHER DAMAGE. REVIEWED THE AIRCRAFT WHILE SITTING ON ITS WHEELS. THE GEAR LOCKS APPEARED TO BE FULLY LOCKED AND SECURE. HOWEVER, THE STAINLESS STEEL DOWNLOCK SPRINGS APPEARED WEAK. OWNER/BUILDER TO INSTALL HEAVIER DUTY STEEL SPRINGS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
