## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LOST CONROL OF THE AIRCRAFT WHILE LANDING. PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO TRACK TO THE RIGHT AND THEN A WIND GUST LIFTED THE RIGHT WING AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT. PILOT THEN INITIATED A GO AROUND AND PARTIALLY RETRACTED FLAPS.THE PILOT FURTHER STATED:"THE AIRCRAFT NOW STAGGERED INTO THE AIR A BIT, THEN DROPPED, BOUNCED, LEAVING ODD SKID-MARKS ON THE TAXIWAY AND PAVED RAMP AREA, AIRCRAFT STILL HEADING TOWARD THE SOUTH PROPERTY FENCE AND A RIP-RAP DEBRIS PILE OF DIRT, BROKEN CONCRETE AND ASPHALT STACKED TO AROUND 18-FEET HIGH.THE AIRCRAFT, NOW LOW BUT AIRBORNE, FAILED TO SUFFICIENTLY OUT CLIMB THE TERRAIN. THE MAIN LANDING-GEAR AND TAILWHEEL CONTACTED THE TOPS OF A DOUBLE-ROW FENCE, BEFORE AIRFRAME IMPACT WITH THE DEBRIS PILE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO BE FLOWN INTO THE CRASH AND SUBSEQUENTLY CAME TO REST AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DEBRIS PILE, JUST SOUTH OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY FENCE. "

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA352](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA352), Aug 12, 2012: Cessna 180 (N2927K), Upland, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll in gusting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
