## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT HAD ATTAINED A SPEED OF ABOUT 75 KNOTS. PILOT NOTICED THAT LEFT ENGINE WAS NOT DEVELOPING FULL POWER. PILOT REJECTED TAKEOFF. AFTER THE PILOT TAXIED OFF THE RUNWAY, HE WAS INFORMED THAT HIS LEFT MAIN GEAR TIRE WAS ON FIRE. HE EVACUATED HIS PASSENGERS AND CREW FROM THE AIRCRAFT. HE EXAMINED THE LEFT INBOARD TIRE AND FOUND THAT IT HAD DEFLATED BECAUSE OF THE "FUSE PLUG" WITHIN THE WHEEL AND HAD TOUCHED THE BRAKE DISK, CAUSING THE TIRE TO IGNITE. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ITSELF AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE FBO TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE POWER FAILURE. ON EXAMINATION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE INLET GUIDE VANES WERE STICKING. THE VANES WERE LUBRICATED AND THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE RETURNED TO SERVICE UPON THE REPLACEMENT OF THE LEFT INBOARD MAIN WHEEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
