## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT RENTED THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE OWNER WHO TOLD THE PILOT THE AIRCRAFT ONLY HAD HALF FUEL QUANTITY, WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS OF FUEL. THE PILOT FLEW APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS PRIOR TO EXHAUSTING HIS FUEL SUPPLY. PILOT ATTEMPTED A FORCED LANDING IN A PASTURE. THE AIRCRAFT STALLED WHILE CLEARING ELECTRICAL WIRES AND LANDED HARD, DESTROYING THE AIRCRAFT. ON SCENE INVESTIGATION FOUND NO FUEL IN THE TANKS OR THE SUMP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12LA583](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12LA583), Aug 24, 2012: Cessna 150M (N63672), Arrow Rock, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate fuel management and in-flight decision making, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
