## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 26,2012 THIS AIRCRAFT DEPARTED DKK AIRPORT FOR A LOCAL VFR FLIGHT. AFTER ABOUT 40 MINUTES OF FLIGHT AS THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNING TO DKK AIRPORT THE ENGINE LOST POWER AT ABOUT 1000 FEET AGL AND 5 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FIELD AND DURING ROLLOUT STRUCK A LARGE ROCK WHICH CAUSED THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR TO BREAK AWAY AND THE LOWER RIGHT WING TO DRAG ON THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT TURNED HARD TO THE RIGHT CAUSING THE TAIL WHEEL TO BEND THE RUDDER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT WHO WAS ALONE IN THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
