## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 31, 2012, AT APPROXIMATELY 09:40 PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME, N4454D, A BEECHCRAFT G35, WAS EN-ROUTE FROM TULARE, CA (TLR) TO OCEANO COUNTY (L52). THE PILOTS SUBMITTED STATEMENT EXPLAINED THAT WHILE ON DESCENT APPROXIMATELY 7 TO 8 MILES NORTH OF (L52) AND APPROXIMATELY 2500 FEET, THE AIRCRAFT STARTED SHAKING FOLLOWED BY MILD TURBULENCE. THE PILOT CLOSED THE THROTTLE AND SLOWED THE AIRCRAFT AND THE SHAKING STOPPED. THE PILOT CONTINUED AND LANDED AT OCEANO AIRPORT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. PILOT INSPECTED AIRCRAFT AFTER LANDING AND NOTICED DAMAGE TO THE AFT SECTION OF THE FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12LA396](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12LA396), Aug 31, 2012: Beech G35 (N4454D), Oceano, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the design maneuvering speed during descent in turbulence, which resulted in structural damage to the aft fuselage.
