## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2012 THE PILOT DEPARTED FREDERICKSBURG, TX AT 0735L WITH FLIGHT PLANS TO LANCASTER REGIONAL (LNC), TX. THE FLIGHT TIME ENROUTE TO LNC WAS UNEVENTFUL. WEATHER CONTIDITON WAS NOT A FACTOR. HE TOUCHED DOWN AT LNC AT APPROXIMATELY 0905L, UPON SLOWING DOWN TO APPROX 20 MPH HE BROUGHT THE TAIL WHEEL DOWN AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER HE EXPERIENCED A STRONG TURN TO THE RIGHT. HE THEN APPLIED HIS LEFT BRAKE BUT OVER-CORRECTED CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO GROUND-LOOP. HE CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 13, APPROXMATILY 1500 FT FROM THE LANDING THRESHOLD. THE PROPELLER AND RIGHT WING IMPACTED THE GROUND AND THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR LEG CAME OUT OF THE GEAR BOX. THERE WAS SOME MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LOWER ENGING COWLING BUT NO OBSERVABLE DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE OR EMPENNAGE. THE PILOT DID NOT SUFFER ANY PHYSICAL INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA614](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA614), Sep 1, 2012: Cessna L-19E (N4431F), Lancaster, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
