## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT CANCELED IFR AND EXECUTED A VISUAL APPROACH TO LANDING. AFTER ENTERING A LEFT DOWN WIND THE AIRCRAFT THEN TURNED TO A CLOSE-IN LEFT BASE. BECAUSE THE AIRCRAFT WAS HIGH AND FAST ON FINAL IT BOUNCED TWO TIMES AFTER LANDING. THE PILOT THEN EXECUTED A GO-AROUND BUT LATER DECIDED HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CLEAR POWER LINES AT THE SOUTH END OF THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT THEN ATTEMPTED ANOTHER LANDING USING THE REMAINING RUNWAY BUT FAILED TO STOP AND CONTINUED OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT WHERE HE IMPACTED A BARB WIRE FENCE AND STEEL SUPPORT POST. THE OUTER HALF OF THE LEFT WING WAS REMOVED, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED, AND THE NOSE GEAR WAS BENT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA612](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA612), Sep 6, 2012: Hawker Beechcraft G36 (N563AP), Decatur, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in executing the aborted landing, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
