## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OF THIS AIRPLANE WAS PERFORMING AT A LOCAL AIRSHOW IN AMARILLO, TEXAS. HE LOWERED THE GEAR FOR LANDING AND THE NOSE GEAR CAME DOWN TO A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. THE PILOT RADIOED THE AIR BOSS INFORMING HIM THAT HE WAS GOING TO FLY TO AMARILLO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KAMA) TO MAKE HIS EMERGENCY LANDING. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE NOSE GEAR WITH THE EMERGENCY LANDING GEAR SYSTEM BUT IT FAILED TO LOCK THE NOSE GEAR DOWN. THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN ON RUNWAY 04 AT KAMA WITH THE NOSE GEAR NOT LOCKED AND ON ROLL OUT IT COLLAPSED. THERE WAS ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
