## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF FROM HI-ROCK (PRIVATE) AIRPORT. AT APPROXIMATELY 200-300 FT. THE POWER SLOWLY DECAYED UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT FLY. THE PILOT SELECTED A FIELD NEXT TO HIS RUNWAY AND COMPLETED MOST OF THE TURN. THE AIRSPEED CONTINUED TO FALL UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT QUIT FLYING. THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE GROUND WITH THE LEFT WING DOWN AND THE LEFT LANDING GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT WOUND UP ON ITS RIGHT SIDE AND PARTIALLY UPSIDE DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT BE INSPECTED VERY WELL IN THIS POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT WAS MOVED TO THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ BARN, ACROSS FROM THE AIRPORT TO BE INSPECTED ON 9/17/12 WHERE THE ENGINE CAN BE ROTATED AND INSPECTED MORE THOROUGHLY.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
