## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PINNACLE FLIGHT 3635 TOOK OFF FROM LANSING CAPITAL AIRPORT (LAN) ENROUTE TO DETROIT WAYNE COUNTY AIRPORT (DTW) ON SEPTEMBER 09, 2012 AT APPROXIMATELY 1830Z. AT APPROXIMATELY 4000 FT THE CREW RECEIVED A MASTER CAUTION WARNING FOR THE OIL PRESSURE ON THE RT ENGINE. THE CREW PERFORMED THE QRH AND RETARDED THE POWER LEVER TO IDLE. THE MASTER WARNING WENT OUT AND OIL PRESSURE WAS IN THE GREEN AT 29 PSI. WHEN THE POWER ON THE RT ENGINE WAS INCREASED THE MASTER CAUTION WARNING RETURNED AND THE PRESSURE INDICATION WENT TO THE RED ZONE. THE CREW RETARDED THE ENGINE BACK TO FLIGHT IDLE, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO RT ENGINE FAILURE AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO LAN WHERE IT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN INDICATION OF HOT BRAKES AFTER ROLLOUT SO IT STAYED ON THE RAMP UNTIL THE INDICATION WENT AWAY THEN TAXIED TO THE GATE WHERE THE PASSENGERS AND CREW DEPLANED. MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT WHEN THE ENGINE DRIVEN PUMP WAS DEFERRED UNDER MEL THE MECHANIC NEGLECTED TO INSTALL AN ORING WITH THE BLANKING PLUG. AN ORING WAS INSTALLED AND THE ENGINE WAS SERVICE WITH 208 OZ OF OIL. SYSTEM OPS AND LEAK CHECKED GOOD AND AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
