## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RWY 36 AT H79 AND PILOT EXECUTED A 45-DEGREE BANKED CLIMBING LEFT TURN IMMEDIATELY AFTER LIFT OFF. THE ENGINE LOST POWER MIDWAY THROUGH TURN AND THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RETURN TO THE RUNWAY, BUT WAS UNABLE. PILOT ELECTED TO LAND IN A WET GRASS PASTURE. AIRCRAFT SLID THROUGH A FENCE AND INTO TREES LOCATED AT END OF PASTURE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12LA630](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12LA630), Sep 11, 2012: Halderman, Floyd G. RV-6A (N464EH), Eldon, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper fuel management, which resulted in fuel starvation and a total loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
