## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE PERFORMING THE LAST OF A SERIES OF TOUCH AND GO'S THE PILOT BOUNCED THE AIRCRAFT ON ITS NOSE, BREAKING OFF THE NOSE TIRE AND THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE BLADES. THE PILOT THEN PROCEEDED TO IMMEDIATELY ADD FULL POWER AND GO AROUND. THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT CLIMB AND EVENTUALLY CRASHED APPROXIMATELY 1.5 MILES AWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA564](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA564), Sep 16, 2012: Lancair LC42-550FG (N6512Y), Okeechobee, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
