## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CFI ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS PROVIDING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION TO STUDENT PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (NON-CERTIFICATED) FROM EL MONTE AIRPORT (EMT). THE CFI REPORTED THAT THE STUDENT PILOT WAS MANIPULATING THE CONTROLS OF THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS ON A NORMAL APPROACH TO LANDING AT EMT. CFI REPORTED THAT THE STUDENT PILOT LET THE NOSE DROP ONCE IN GROUND EFFECT AND LANDED HARD ON THE NOSE GEAR. THE HARD LANDING CAUSED THE NOSE GEAR TO SHEAR OFF AND FOR THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND. THE CFI THEN TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT APPLIED POWER FOR A GO-AROUND. THE CFI CONTACTED THE THE TOWER AND REQUESTED THEM TO REPORT THE CONDITION OF THE NOSE WHEEL. THE EMT TOWER ADVISED THE CFI THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD NO NOSE GEAR. THE CFI MADE 4 REPORTED APPROACHED AND LANDED ON THE 4TH APPROACH WITH NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
