## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS PERFORMING POWER LINE INSPECTIONS 12 MILES SOUTH EAST OF MMH AIRPORT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE BECAME AWARE OF THE LACK OF POWER WHEN THE CLIMB PERFORMANCE DETERIORATED. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE REALIZED THAT FURTHER CLIMB WAS NOT POSSIBLE SO HE HEADED FOR A POSSIBLE LANDING SITE ON A ROAD THAT WAS NEAR HIS POSITION. HE STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO ARREST THE DESCENT AND ALSO HEARD A NOISE HE ASSUMED WAS THE LOW ROTOR RPM WARNING. HE FURTHER STATED THAT HE WAS ATTEMPTING A RUN ON LANDING AND DOES NOT REMEMBER THE LAST 2 SECONDS PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12LA426](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12LA426), Sep 19, 2012: Bell 206 - B (N222GR), Mammoth Lakes, CA, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot’s inability to maintain sufficient main rotor rpm while maneuvering in high density altitude conditions, which resulted in a precautionary landing and subsequent rollover.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
