9-24-2012 AT 16:00 LOCAL TIME, N911BL, A MD-369FF (MD530F) PUBLIC USE AIRCRAFT WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DURING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. THE PILOT IN COMMAND AND THE PILOT UNDER INSTRUCTION WERE PERFORMING PRACTICE AUTOROTIONS. ON THE TENTH AUTOROTATION, THE PILOT IN COMMAND WAS CONDUCTING A 270 DEGREE AUTOROTATION MANUEVER TO TAXIWAY ZULU AT THE NORTH LAS VEGAS AIRPORT. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12TA436](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12TA436), Sep 24, 2012: Mcdonnell Douglas Heli 369FF (N911BL), Las Vegas, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain sufficient airspeed while performing a 270-degree practice autorotation with a gusting tailwind at a high-density altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
