## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN WAS ENROUTE FROM TEXAS TO NEBRASKA ON A NIGHT VFR FLIGHT. AT APPROXIMATELY 0223 UTC, AND 12 NAUTICAL MILES FROM HIS DESTINATION, HE NOTIFIED AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL THAT HE HAD RAN OUT OF GAS. THE CLOSEST AIRPORT WAS MINDEN, NEBRASKA AND HE QUESTIONED AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL ABOUT THE PILOT CONTROLLED LIGHTING AT THE AIRPORT.A SHORT TIME LATER, A SUCCESSFUL LANDING WITH A FAILED ENGINE WAS MADE AT THE MINDEN AIRPORT BY THE AIRMAN. THE AIRMAN WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT INJURED. IN ADDITION, THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT INCUR ANY DAMAGE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REFUELED AND THE AIRMAN CONTINUED ON TO HIS ORIGINAL DESTINATION. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN BACK TO TEXAS FROM NEBRASKA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
