## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED A TAKE OFF NEAR SPRINGFIELD NEBRASKA FROM A GRASS STRIP TO THE SOUTH AND FAILED TO GAIN ENOUGH ALTITUDE TO CLEAR AN IRRIGATION TURRET. THE PILOT MADE A STEEP LEFT TURN TO AVOID THE IRRIGATION TURRET. THE POWERED PARACHUTE STRUCK THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET IN FRONT OF THE IRRIGATION TURRET. THE PILOT SUSTAINED INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12CA666](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12CA666), Sep 28, 2012: Barche Destiny XLT (N30337), Springfield, NE, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s decision to continue the takeoff when the chute oscillations were initially detected.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
