## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1805 LOCAL TIME THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED ALB USING RUNWAY 19. UPON REACHING REACHING APPROXIMATELY 200-300 FEET THE ENGINE QUIT ABRUPTLY CAUSING A FORCED LANDING PAST THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS. RECENT MAINTENANCE ON THIS AIRCRAFT INCLUDED OVERHAUL OF THE ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP AND REPLACEMENT OF ALL SPARK PLUGS DUE TO ENGINE ROUGHNESS. UPON REMOVAL OF THE FAILED FUEL PUMP IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT HAD SHEARED AND THE PUMP WAS NOT EASY TO TURN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
