## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 6000 FEET INBOUND, THE CAPTAIN SAW A LARGE BIRD FLASH BY HIS LEFT WINDOW. IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER, THE #1 ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND THE FLIGHT CREW EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ICAS FAULT MESSAGES. AFTER THE ENGINE FAILED THE CREW FOLLOWED THE QRH PROCEDURES TO SECURE THE ENGINE AND PERFORM AN EMERGENCY LANDING. DUE TO A FLAP FAIL MESSAGE THE CAPTAIN PERFORMED A NO SLAT AND FLAP 2 LANDING. THE CAPTAIN REQUESTED THAT CRASH FIRE RESCUE INSPECT THE MAIN GEAR AREA FOR INDICATIONS OF A BRAKE OVER HEAT. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE GATE AND DEPLANED THE PASSENGERS THROUGH THE JET BRIDGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
