## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/19/12, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE PILOT IN COMMAND OF N232BB. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS FLYING THIS AIRCRAFT IN THE PATTERN AT QUEEN CITY (KXLL) WHILE PRACTICING TAKE OFFS AND LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 25. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH, HE NOTICED THAT THE WIND SEEMED TO BE VARIABLE AND, "GUSTING FROM DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS." HE FURTHER STATED THAT AFTER THE FLARE AND TOUCHDOWN, HE, "HIT THE BRAKES AND SEEMED TO ACCELERATE" EVEN THOUGH HE HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKES. HE STATED THAT AS HE COULDNT SLOW THE AIRCRAFT ENOUGH SO AS TO MAKE THE TURN AT THE END OF RUNWAY 25, HE DECIDED TO TAKE THE AIRCRAFT INTO THE GRASS. IN DOING SO, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STRUCK A THRESHOLD AND RUNWAY END IDENTIFIER LIGHT WITH THE PROPELLER. THE WINDS AS ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REPORTED IN HIS STATEMENT PRIOR TO DEPARTURE WERE 160/7 PER THE QUEEN CITY AWOS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
