## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT WHILE LANDING SHE WAS CONCENTRATING ON CROSSWINDS AND LIKELY RUSHED HER LANDING DUE TO ANOTHER AIRCRAFT IN THE PATTERN. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE SHE WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL. SHE THEN TAXIED TO THE HANGER. AN INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRFAT FOUND THE LOWER FIREWALL AND LEFT FUESLAGE DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13CA038](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13CA038), Oct 20, 2012: Cessna 172H (N1431F), Weyers Cave, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s improper landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
