## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

11/08/2012 AIRCRAFT WAS ON FINAL TO FFZ. PILOT MOVED GEAR LEVER TO GEAR DOWN POSITION. GEAR MOVED TO THE DOWN POSITION AS VISUALLY VERIFIED BY THE PILOT. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. PILOT CYCLED THE GEAR UP AND DOWN WITH THE SAME RESULT. PILOT THEN HAND PUMPED THE GEAR. VISUAL CONFIRMATION INDICATED THAT THE GEAR WERE ALL DOWN, HOWEVER, THE NLG LIGHT REMAINED OFF. PILOT TESTED THE BULB AND FOUND THE BULB WORKING. UNABLE TO GET THE NLG LIGHT TO COME ON, THE PILOT ASKED FFZ TOWER TO CONFIRM THE LANDING GEAR APPEARED DOWN AND LOCKED. TOWER CONFIRMED GEAR WERE IN THE DOWN POSITION. PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON THE MAINS, SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND SAT THE AIRCRAFT NOSE GEAR DOWN. THE LANDING GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN AND LOCKED. WHEN THE PILOT TURNED OFF OF THE RUNWAY, THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT COWL FLAPS, EXHAUST PIPE, NOSE LANDING GEAR DOORS, PROPELLER TIPS, AND SEVERAL PARTS OF THE NLG WERE DAMAGED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
