## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON TAKE-OFF THE PILOT SELECTED TO RETRACT LANDING GEAR, BUT DID NOT GET A UP AND LOCKED CONFIRMATION LIGHT. PILOT OBSERVED THROUGH MIRRORS THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS HALF WAY RETRACTED. PILOT CYCLED GEAR SELECTOR SEVERAL TIMES WITH MOVEMENT FROM THE NOSE AND RIGHT MAIN GEAR, BUT NO MOVEMENT FROM THE LEFT MAIN GEAR. PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, BURNED EXCESSIVE FUEL AND PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING WITH THE GEAR PARTIALLY EXTENDED. ON LANDING THE GEAR COLLAPSED AND AIRCRAFT SKIDDED TO A STOP WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FOUND THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SADDLE ASSEMBLY BROKEN, PREVENTING THE EXTENSION AND RETRACTION OF LEFT MAIN GEAR. SADDLE ASSEMBLY HAD BEEN INSTALLED SINCE AIRCRAFT WAS MANUFACTURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
