## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DOWN WIND AT THE DESTINATION AIRPORT ON HER FIRST SOLO CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT, THE STUDENT PILOT SELECTED HALF FLAPS, REDUCED THE POWER AND PITCHED THE NOSE DOWN TO AN APPROACH SPEED OF 70 MPH. ON SHORT FINAL, THE STUDENT PILOT REALIZED SHE WAS TOO HIGH AND DROPPED THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE RUNWAY DAMAGING THE NOSE GEAR. AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME, THE STUDENT PILOT TRIED TO LEVEL OFF AND PULLED THE STICK BACK. THE AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF, STALLED AND THEN AGAIN, NOSED INTO THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
