## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE STARTING PROCESS THE AIRMAN INTENDED TO APPLY THE AIRCRAFT BRAKES BUT INSTEAD PLACED HIS FEET HIGH ENOUGH TO HAVE IS TOES ON THE CROSS-TUBE OF THE RUDDER CONTROLS. WHEN HE ATTEMPTHED TO APPLY THE TOE BRAKES HE WAS PRESSING ON THE CROSS-TUBE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED ACROSS THE RAMP AND IMPACTED THE HANGER. ALL AIRCRAFT BRAKE AND ENGINE CONTROL COMPONENTS FOUND TO BE FUNCTIONING NORMALLY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13CA091](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13CA091), Dec 15, 2012: Piper PA28R (N3915T), Newport News, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to properly monitor the flight controls (toe brake pedals) during engine start.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
