## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 17, 2012, AT APPROXIMATELY 1615 LOCAL TIME, N96323 DEPARTED RUNWAY 14 AT WINCHESTER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KOKV). ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE PIC AND SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS CONDUCTING A FLIGHT FOR PLEASURE. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, AT APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET AGL N96323 LOST ENGINE POWER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DESCRIBED THE LOSS OF POWER AS ABRUPT AND THAT THE ENGINE DID NOT SPUTTER.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ MADE A FORCED LANDING IN A FARM FIELD TO THE SOUTHEAST OF THE AIRPORT APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE AWAY.

A MAINTENANCE INSPECTION SUBSEQUENT TO THE INCIDENT REVEALED THE CARBURETOR HAD DEBRIS IN THE INLET AND THE BOWL AND THE SCREWS TO THE CARBURETOR BOWL WERE LOOSE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
